Jesus and Presidential Candidates

The 2016 United States Presidential race is alive and well even though it is only 2015.  Many of the candidates were involved in a nationally televised debate last night.  There was much proclaiming from the candidates about how their plans as president would be good for the United States.  As time goes by, most of the candidates will drop out of the race and the voters will decide between just a few candidates.  The names of those who debated last night will be forgotten by many Americans in the years to come.

However, there is a name that will never be forgotten and there is amazing power in that name:

JESUS

Philippians 2:9-11 says, Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (NIV).

Our nation needs a strong leader who will lead with righteousness and justice.  However, his or her name will never mean what the name of Jesus means.  The next president will never do what Jesus did for all of us.  He led with humility and by giving the ultimate sacrifice, not authority and God will exalt Him higher than all dictators and kings and presidents combined!

Notice the actions of ALL people here:  physically they will bow down in an act of submission. All of those who have overtly and arrogantly defied God and anything to do with Him and those who have silently rebelled against Him in their hearts will all submit to Him in a physical way.

Also, they will overtly say who is in charge (so to speak)-with their mouths!  Those who have defied and cussed God will at some point clearly proclaim that He is Lord!

It is not a matter of if all people from all time will confess that Jesus is Lord, but when they do it.  When will you do it?  Will you confess that He is Lord of your life today?  You will do it at some point, why not make it today?

What is the ultimate outcome?  God receives the glory!
